Focus On What You Want More Of — Lorraine Hamilton

Let’s play a game. I want you to take a moment while you’re reading this blog post and take your eyes away for a second and look around the room that you’re in. I want you to notice all of the red things that you can see in that room. Notice, where is there little hints of red or pink hues of red? Where can you see red around your room? Okay. Now back to me, how many blue things did you see?

What I’m getting at here is that if you want more of something in your life, you have to focus on it. And if you want less of something in your life, then you need to stop focusing on it.

Now the point of that is really to help you to understand what I’m trying to get across in this post, what you focus on expands, what you look for, you will find more of.

Have you ever bought a new car and you’re so excited about your new car? I love cars. I have three cars at the moment. I love slightly unusual cars if I can find them. But have you ever bought a new car and you get so excited about it and once you’ve made the decision, maybe even before you pick up the car and you’re driving along the road and suddenly it feels like every second car is just like your car. I hate that. But the thing is, we’re so focused on the car that suddenly we’re noticing more and more. And while it feels like those cars weren’t there before they were, we just weren’t noticing them.

What I’m getting at here is that if you want more of something in your life, you have to focus on it. And if you want less of something in your life, then you need to stop focusing on it.

Track what you want to focus on

If you want more money, track it. If you want to lose those extra kilos, track it. If you want to develop a morning ritual, track it, what you focus on expands. So focus on what you want more of.

Inside my group coaching program, The Purple Hair Revolution, you can set unlimited metrics and actions to encourage and support you to track what you’re working towards so that you can see the progress you’re making.

It’s great to see my participants really utilizing those tools so that they can see their practices grow, their success grows. And when you do that, your confidence grows as well.

Success begets success

If you want to change something, then create a way to track it. When you see the progress that you’re making, it’s really encouraging. And I’ve done this several times in my own life, as well as helping my clients do it to. Remember what you focus on expands, focus on what you want more of.

I’d love you to reach out and get in touch and tell me your experience on focusing on what you want more of.

And if you’d like more information about the Purple Hair Revolution, then get in touch.
